We embrace that at Paws & Effect, LLC by using natural, eco-friendly and pet-friendly natural shampoos and offering whole food healthy food options in our retail store. On top of this, we subscribe to the highest industry standards in the care and grooming of your pet. Each of our staff undergoes special training before they begin their job. We have an ongoing concern for the humane treatment of all pets. Both Natalie & Melissa graduated from the Florida Institute of Animal Arts School of Dog Grooming.

We will not promise you your pet will be ready in an hour. Our process includes several steps which we refuse to rush. Our goal is to give you back a pet that is happy and relaxed.

We also guarantee our grooms. If you are unsatisfied, let us know within 48 hours and we will do what we can to make it right. (short of putting hair back on the dog!)

Meet Our Groomers

Natalie with Teddy, a Shih Tzu. Natalie is owned by a Miniature Schnauzer, Poodle, Basenji/Aussie Mix, and a Chow mix. Natalie graduated from the Florida Institute of Animal Arts as a Pet Stylist. Natalie grew up in Brooklyn, NY with several dogs. As her blood grew thicker from the cold, she decided a move to Florida was needed! (by way of Virginia)

Melissa, here with Murphy, a Wire Fox Terrier, at the Orlando Dog Grooming Show. Melissa is owned by four Miniature Schnauzers,a Chow Chow, and a Bernese Mountain Dog/Pit Mix. You may meet them in the shop on any day! Plus, a Persian who reigns over them all. Melissa graduated from the Florida Institute of Animal Arts as a Pet Stylist. Melissa grew up a Navy Brat and has lived all over the world. (mostly warm climates) Born in Jacksonville, Florida, she decided after 20 years in Northern Virginia (Brrrr!) to head back home. She has only lived (if you can call it that) 2 days without a dog or cat in her life. She has owned Miniature Schnauzers since she was able to walk and groomed them since she was 14. She is finally doing what makes her happy.

Mindy, was born in Beltsville, MD but spent most of her life on the west coast of FL. She grew up with dogs, and cats and turned her love for her four legged friends into a career, when she realized her dogs were in need of constant grooming, and why not just do it herself! She graduated from Pets Playground Grooming School as a pet stylist back in 2010. After trying her hand at mobile grooming, she decided she preferred a physical location instead of always being on the move. She's made a wonderful addition to our team, and we are glad to have her here. Mindy is owned by a Golden Doodle, Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, Blue Heeler mix, Doberman Pinscher and two cats.

Kristen is our 'go-to' person for hyper, excitable puppies and anxious oldsters. We have to bribe her to describe herself. She'd much rather be putting scissors to a poodle or sweet talking puppies.She is our scissoring queen and loves to scissor poodle patterns. Her favorite Groom dogs are Yorkies and Poodles.

UPDATE: Kiki has achieved her Certification in Non-Working Group which includes: Poodles and Bichon Frise!  Congratulations!
